Well the world cup of soccer is big news over here – I only wish they wouldn’t call it the world cup of soccer! It was on the last time we were here for any period of time, and I remember a score on the radio – “in tonight’s game it’s Sweden v Tonga, and the score is currently zero, zero”. It’s like English, but not quite
Anyway, the news is that, although the American’s on the whole either aren’t interested or actively hate the game, they want to, now, how did it go?, they want to grind England into the dirt. Well that’s a little uncharitable isn’t it?
Unfortunately we’ll not see the game because it’s Cath’s first full Olympic sized triathlon this weekend, and we’ll be in Wasa (a mere hour and 20 minutes away, so practically in our own back yard!) It looks like it’s going to be sunny, and there’s always a big turnout on this one. Cath was approached by the Fernie Tri group to see if she’d run for them, so she said yes. We’re all looking forward to see how she will do. We also have our friends Keith and Linda here this weekend as well. Keith is running too, and I think it’s his first race this year, so good luck to the pair of them!

I called today, Saturday in Canada, Sunday in Thailand to say Good Luck Cath.
But if you’re on a w/end away that’s why you weren’t home…. In nit!!!!!!!
You will proberbly know by now that the US held England to a draw….
England were very lucky……………………
oo oooo look Ben, China again
i particularly disliked the hand slappinh happy clappy thing the usa did everytime a player was substituted. It’s nothing to celebrate, you didn’t win. perhaps i am a sore drawer.
Good luck Catherine and Keith- fingers and toes crossed.
Engerland drew with the US – booooo – no score (or should that be zero – zero?)
Lesley phoned re; the text.
Well done indeed – were you first woman home?
How did Keith go?
So who’s playing then?
