Another one

When I came over here in May, there was still a lot to be done on the house. There were some big items to be sorted, but also lots of niggly things – the mantra for a good 6 months was “only a couple more jobs to go”!  Because there was so much to do, it was agreed that I’d start exercising properly when the house was ready to receive guests. Finishing the house and thinking about ourselves for a change coincided with our check-ups in December when we joined our new doctor’s surgery. I had a bit of a surprise with my cholesterol levels, as was the doctor, so as there was no time like the present I decided to do something about it. Well, I decided to do something about it after Christmas.

So, it appears that there is someone else in the house on a training plan. I’m definitely not training for triathlons; I’m not that daft. No, I’m currently training for a 10K run in Fernie in the summer. This has meant that I’ve been on the treadmill 5-6 days a week for the last few weeks, slowly building up the distances, and I ran my first “treadmill 10k” on 70 minutes last night! Yaay! There’s no way I was going to run any further than that, but I didn’t feel too bad when I got off.

Since I started I’ve lost about 10lb, so I’ve even had to buy a new pair of jeans!

Julie: no, I’m not going to do a triathlon (see above!) :) I’m with Lesley on this one, they’re nice to look at, but far too much clatting about!

Ok I won’t be too gushy cos Jase would kill me, bit I really am very chuffed – he’s doing amazingly well and is really enjoying it (most important thing!)

Hahahahahahaha!!! I am so proud of you Jason — 10km is no walk in the park!!! Neither is 10lbs!!!! Me and Cath are going to have a hard time keeping up with you pretty soon. You’ll be saying, “What’s so hard about running fast?” Hee-hee!!!

I had to read that a couple times and I finally clued in. Cath doesn’t have an extra 10 pounds to lose, so I figured that it was Jase writing. Yay me! Yay Jase!!

when you say you are not “currently” training to do a 10k run this summer. Does that mean that next week you might be! Well done Jase

Ah, I see where you’re are looking. Here’s the quote “I’m not that daft. No, I’m currently training for a 10K run in Fernie in the summer.” I am currently training for the 10k in the summer. yaay? :)
