We’ve had a load of snow in the past few days, so Bob and I took his four wheel drive back up Coal Creek Road to find some of those waterfalls again to see what they are like this time of year – and boy they didn’t disappoint! We waded through deep powder and over rocks and trees as we climbed up the creek. The first waterfall was impressive, with long ice columns and freezing cold water shooting over the top of it. This wasn’t the one we were looking for though, so with time running out, we route-marched around the first fall and onwards to the main fall of the day. Wow, it was completely different to only a few weeks ago. There was more water thundering over the top of the falls than in the autumn, and the two metre long icicles all around the cliff face made the whole thing look like a grotto. Bob and I were grinning from ear to ear as we set the cameras up. The photos here really don’t do the place justice! Anyway, time ran out, and the big fat flakes of snow were getting thicker and thicker, so it was time to wipe down the cameras, pack up, and ship out.

Very very good Jase, I like the way you have done them in black and white, very dramatic.
I know I’m waaaay too biased, but they are wonderful aren’t they!
They are amazing Jason – truly beautiful.
