You know, I thought this morning that my legs would ache. Usually my legs ache, not the day after a bike ride or exercise like that, but the day after that. This morning, nothing! Now, I think that it’s because I actually did what I was supposed to do and did some stretches on the train on the way home. I was pretty self conscious about it because I used to think that people who stretched were pretentious. There you go. Do the bleedin’ obvious and what you’ve been told to do by experts and you can’t go wrong. One tip though dad, when you are on one of your treks to Skegness or The Checkers, you shouldn’t stretch before the bike ride. If you do you will allegedly loose about 12% of the power in your legs. Of course on your way back from The Checkers there is a good chance you will have lost the power in your legs completely. (boom, boom!)
One other fact that I forgot to tell you about the ride was when we hailed that taxi. When we asked for two bikes and two people to Audley End, the driver looked in his book and said £838. He thought that was a bit steep until he realised it was to Aviemore. Well that’s all right, we aren’t even going in the same direction. Mind you, if any of you are in Cambridge now, you’ll know how much money you’ll need to take out to get to Aviemore.
So there you go. I’ve done a bit of work with Google Maps so you can see the route we took.

Wow, GBB’s doing inter-active maps now. Very good!
Poor taxi driver, not his fault he thought you said Aviemore. You KNOW you have to talk slowly to the natives when you get south of Peterborough.
(or, try shouting, that some times works)
Yep, shame it’s concentrated on Cambridge. Just keep pressing the “-” button on the map to zoom out. Will have to try again another day…
