I was sat reading “My dog was a redneck but I had him fixed” (signed by author) when Cath came back in from town. She’d been out and about doing things like visiting the local hot tub shop to get supplies etc.
She drove past the new Canadian Tire and saw people coming out with plastic bags. CT is big news in Fernie. It is biggest (non-supermarket) store to ever open, and there has been no ceremony at all. Everyone seems to think that it is possibly opening tomorrow, but nobody seems to know. We don’t even know if it is really open today or if it is just a staff preview day or something. I have to say that the local paper is particularly rubbish at times. You’d have thought that they would have tried to find out!
Anyway, we can’t cope with not knowing, so we are going to pack some sandwiches and go down to have a look. Hey, we can make an afternoon of it!
The other thing Cath did was to nip up to the ski hill and pick up her season pass! This is the first of the three that we will be picking up over the winter. Cath’s is sporting a rather fetching lanyard with RCR on it. It makes her look as if she works there. Bless her.
The storm over night has reduced the depth of the snow by about half to 6 inches, but hopefully it has added more snow to the top of the hill. Not long now until it opens!

OOOOOOOoooooooooo, the excitement is too much, DO let us know how you get on….
(Placcy bags might = freebies)
Don’t wear your pass out too soon Cath(erine)
